Luxury self-catering accommodation in Shetland
How to reach Shetland by air or sea, and travel around the islands.
By air, Loganair operate flights to Sumburgh Airport from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Kirkwall and Inverness, as well as regular direct flights to Bergen in Norway from May to August. Sumburgh Airport is around 25 miles south of Lerwick, with a regular bus service taking around 40 minutes.
By sea, Northlink Ferries operate an overnight service from Aberdeen to Lerwick, docking at the Holmsgarth Ferry Terminal, a short walk from the town centre. Recliner seats, sleeping pods, and 2 or 4 berth cabins are available on board.
Once in Shetland, comprehensive travel information covers local buses, internal ferries and inter-island flight services for getting around the islands.
